Afraid of becoming Catholic? Hear from two women who had the same fears and check out other resources.
First, you should talk with a local priest or a friend who is a practicing Catholic. They can help guide you, answer some more immediate questions, and get you signed up in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This is the process for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. Please contact a Catholic church in your area to get the process started. For a list of parishes in our diocese by city, which includes the church location, priest, and contact information, go here.
You can also call Father Daren Zehnle, director for the office for divine worship and the catechumenate at (217) 698-8500 ext. 109 or email him at .
